Lure & Illusion

As the title says, “Lure & Illusion” (oil on wood panel) is as the title suggests, dealing with more simplistic understanding of that metaphor, yet opening out into stranger possibilities of hypnotism, madness and opium dreams!

UPDATE

I think it would take too long to write about everything I’ve been doing in the time that has lapsed since my last post. I have managed to move into a completely new studio, situated on farmland in regional Queensland Australia, just outside the city of Toowoomba. It’s a beautiful place & I hope to share that with you in an upcoming video interview I’m doing for ABC Open, shooting is Monday 7th of September, stay posted. Other than that, I will let the pictures do the talking.

If your reading this; thank you so much for your support, and I’d like to ask you to keep your fingers crossed for me as I await to hear if I’m a finalist in this years Darebin Art Prize in Vic. Also as the deadlines for the Paddington and Hawkesbury art awards approach later this month.

Cheers,

Jared Fountain

My Newest Work

It’s been so long since I I have kept my blog up to date and it’s about time that I give you all a taste of everything that I have been relentlessly pursuing in my studio! So without any further ado here are some images of a brand new body of work that I intend upon exhibiting sometime in the near future, not only that but I am also currently working on plans for my first show in Sydney which I will indeed keep you posted about!
A big thanks to all those who continue to view my blog although I have been so overwhelmed with work in my studio that it has been quite some time between posts, also keep an eye out on the gallery section as it will soon be updated with fresh material. But for now I will let my painting do the rest of the talking, I hope you enjoy!
Cheers,

Jared

Big News

Well its been a while since my last post and that has been partially because I have just been signed up with a commercial art gallery on the Gold Coast, one I have been a fan of for a really long time! The Gallery is called 19 Karen and you can find them at http://www.19karen.com and their Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/19KAREN?fref=ts  so please go check them out!

In other news I really have just been so busy making artwork that my usage of the internet has fallen  to the wayside which is not good, so I will be drastically updating this blog/site with new pictures and information as the next few days etc. go by.

I have just been blessed by 19 Karen in that they have allowed myself and four other new artists be a part of one of their major shows for March, so I will be filling you in with more images from that night which was just recently on March 1st courtesy of the gallery.

So keep ready because I have a whole backlog of especially images to post up on this site and its going to be exciting to share them with you all, cheers,

Jared Fountain

New Series RED II

I have decided to put underneath the exhibition section of the blog site a new series which I am still currently working on to hopefully give you a great preview of what the entire series will be like and what my next solo project will involve, so please check it out, and I hope you enjoy!

Jared.  (PS:   I am also including a self portrait series underneath the exhibition section as it has been something I have also been having a lot of fun with and learning a lot too!  I have decided to name the series “Selfies” since this has become such an interesting aspect of out culture.)
